Bourgeois

All Pantheon guitars are handcrafted in Maine and carry the Bourgeois headstock signature which guarantees a level of quality that players and enthusiasts alike come to expect in fine steel string acoustic instruments. Located in an 1840's mill in Lewiston, Maine, Dana and his fellow craftsman, most of who have been with him for years, build about 30 guitars a month and remain committed to each instrument as an individual. Every instrument is tweaked, shaved and prodded by expert hands. It starts with the wood selection by Dana, a foremost authority on the voicing, selection and utilization of fine acoustic tone woods and ends with each guitar "singing" usually while the entire shop crowds around to hear the pure and balanced tone of another great Bourgeois guitar. As testimony to these great instruments, they have become a favorite of many professional country and bluegrass players, such as Ricky Skaggs, Bryan Sutton, Martin Simpson, Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek, Steve Earle, Ron Block, Dan Tyminski and Marshall Crenshaw. Bourgeois guitars are cherished by many serious musicians around the world, young and old.

R. Taylor

Robert Taylor has been building guitars for three and a half decades, and even though the factory has grown large, he has personally made thousands of guitars. One at a time. With the recources of Taylor guitars at his fingertips, R. Taylor decided to start a new company that makes guitars focusing emphasis on detail with sandpaper and chisel in hand. One by one with no detail too small. The quantity, almost by definition, is small because the talent needed to make guitars in this way is very, very rare and needs to be fostered in a small shop environment. Taylor Guitars has amassed the best supply of wood in the industry along with some of the best craftsmen building guitars today. With the use of these resources R. Taylor builds some of the finest guitars on the market, and puts them in the hands of only the finest dealers the market has to offer. Pair Robert Taylor, Larry Breedlove, and a few other fine luthiers and you get the newest addition to the high-end, hand-made acoustic guitar world.

Taylor

In 1973, at age 18, Bob Taylor began working at American Dream, a small guitar-making shop owned by Sam Radding where Kurt Listug was already an employee. In 1974 Sam Radding decided to sell the business. Taylor and Listug became partners along with Steve Schemmer and bought American Dream which they renamed Westland Music Company hoping to conjure the image of a larger company in the minds of the public. Needing a more compact logo suitable for the guitars' headstock, the founders decided to change the name to Taylor as it sounded more American than Listug and because as Kurt Listug put it, "Bob was the real guitar-maker." Listug became the businessman of the partnership for which he was to prove well suited while Bob Taylor concentrated on design and production. Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug expanded their small shop into a major guitar manufacturing company while maintaining creative control and ownership. As of 2006 Taylor Guitars has more than 450 employees. The factory is located in El Cajon, California with worldwide distribution. A second plant has been opened 40 miles away in Mexico where the smallest guitars of the Taylor line, the Baby and Big Baby are made along with the Taylor guitar cases. All other Taylor guitars are made in El Cajon, California.
